FX-715 was used in the following case studies:

DESCRIPTION:

FX-715 Hydro-Ester® Epoxy Non-Sagging Consistency is a two component, 1:1 ratio by volume, thixotropic, moisture insensitive epoxy resin system. It is specifically formulated and manufactured at a consistency for easy use with double-barrel guns and static mixers. The non-sagging properties will permit the material to be pumped or gunned into horizontal holes for anchoring rebar or steel bolts. FX-715 exceeds the requirements of ASTM C 881-90 Types, I, II, Grade 3, Class B.

APPLICATION:

  • Setting steel dowels in roadways. Anchor bolts in horizontal, vertical, or overhead application.
  • Sealing surface cracks, when injecting epoxy, urethane or other low viscosity resin such as MMA or HMMA.
  • Bonding hardened concrete to hardened concrete, where good gap filling properties are essential including wood.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Minimum energy required to extrude through double-barrel hand held guns and static mixer or air and electric driven pumps with static mixers.
  • FX-715 will bond to wet or dry surfaces.
  • FX-715 may be feather-edged and will not shrink.
  • FX-715 is readily dispensed into narrow slots and holes from cartridge dispensers.
  • FX-715 has excellent resistance to gasoline, oil, sewage and aggressive water.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

For best results, areas where the material is applied must be free of laitance, grease, oil, and any other contaminants which would inhibit a bond. Abrasive blasting, water blasting, or wire brushing for surface preparation are recommended.

MIXING:

Mixing occurs when the material is discharged through a static mixer using a double barrel gun.

CAUTION:

WARNING! A Component contains epoxy resin. DANGER! B Component contains alkaline amines; strong sensitizer. May cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Use with good ventilation, particularly if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin or eyes. Wear protective clothing, goggles, gloves and/or barrier creams. Keep container closed when not is use. Wash thoroughly after handling.

FIRST AID:

In case of skin contact, immediately wash with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least fifteen (15) minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse.
