FX-473 Trowelable Epoxy Resurfacer

DESCRIPTION:

FX-473 Trowelable Epoxy Resurfacer is a two-component, high solids epoxy filling compound. It is designed for trowel application and will easily fill voids in concrete and make surfaces smooth for subsequent coatings. It has excellent non sagging characteristics and will hang up to 1/2 inch neat. When mixed, it has a creamy consistency and is easily applied. It is designed for use on concrete, masonry and steel. FX-473 offers excellent corrosion resistance and very good cathodic disbondment resistance. FX-473 can be applied over cementitious repair materials. FX-473 complies with all current VOC regulations.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

On Concrete and Masonry - Surfaces should be clean, sound and dry. Abrasive blast to remove dirt, curing compounds, existing coatings or laitance and provide a profile to the concrete.

COVERAGE:

Typical WFT and DFT will vary depending upon amount and size of bug holes to be filled plus the roughness of the surface to be covered.

MIXING:

FX-473 has a convenient 1:1 mixing ratio by volume and a long pot life to simplify mixing and application. Combine (1) one part by volume of Component "A" with (1) one part by volume of Component "B". Mix for a minimum of (3) minutes with a low speed electric drill and an FX-Mixing Paddle. No induction time is needed before applying. Mix until uniform color is achieved. A component is white, B Component is black, properly mixed material is light gray, no streaks.

APPLICATION:

FX-473 Trowelable Epoxy Resurfacer can be applied to vertical or horizontal surface. Deeper voids should be spot filled with FX-473 prior to resurfacing entire area. FX-473 should be applied by trowel or squeegee. Wetting the trowel with Xylene or epoxy thinner prior to troweling material will give smoother finish and best results.

PACKAGING:

2 gallon and 10 gallon units.

LIMITATIONS:

Shelf Life - unmixed 12 months in closed container. Do not apply below 45° F. Cooler temperatures prolong set time.

CAUTION:

"A" Component contains epoxy resin. May cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Use with good ventilation, particularly if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin or eyes. Wear protective clothing goggles, gloves and/or barrier creams. Keep container closed when not in use. Wash thoroughly after handling.

FIRST AID: In case of skin contact, immediately wash with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least fifteen (15) minutes. Remove contaminated clothing, shoes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse.
