FX-826 Primer
DESCRIPTION:
FX-826 Primer is a two component reactive resin (mma) used to assure a good bond of FX-826 Polymer Concrete to existing substrates. FX-826 Primer consists of a liquid methyl methacrylate resin and a initiator. FX-826 Primer is mixed at the jobsite and applied to the substrate (concrete, steel, or timber). The liquid penetrates the substrate and polymerizes into cured poly methyl methacrylate (pmma).
ADVANTAGES:
- Low viscosity permits deep penetration of concrete, mortar, and timber.
- 100% reactive resin system.
- Dries tack-free in 30-40 minutes and is ready to have FX-826 Polymer Concrete placed.
- Can be used in temperatures as low as 32°F (0°C).
WHERE TO USE:
On concrete bridge decks, garage floors, Industrial floors, or as needed to improve bond of FX-826 Polymer Concrete.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Weight per gallon |

SURFACE PREPARATION:
The concrete, timber, or steel surfaces to receive FX-826 Polymer Concrete must be clean, dry and sound. The drier the surfaces, the deeper the penetration. To induce surface drying, heating blankets are recommended. Remove dust, laitance, grease, curing compounds, waxes, or other contaminants by sandblasting, abrading, or wire brushing.
MIXING:
Open Component "A" resin (mma) and pour Component "B" (initiator) liquid into Component "A" container. Units are premeasured for easy mixing. Mix for 2-3 minutes with a low-speed drill and FX-Mixing Paddle until uniformly mixed.
APPLICATION:
Pour mixed material immediately after mixing on top of concrete, steel, or timber and spread with squeegee, roller, or brush.
COVERAGE:
Coverage depends on porosity of concrete, masonry, or timber surface. 50-150 square feet are recommended under normal conditions. If surface film develops on concrete, reduce rate of application.
PACKAGING:
1 gallon or 5-gallon units.
LIMITATIONS:
Do not leave puddles which can cause slippery surface.
CAUTION:
DANGER! Flammable Liquid Contains Methyl Methacrylate. Do not use near open spark or flame. Avoid Breathing vapors. Avoid contact with skin. Wash thoroughly after handling.
USE IN WELL VENTILATED AREAS. FUMES CAN CAUSE IRRITATION. SEE SAFETY AND HANDLING PRECAUTION SHEET.
FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN. 4/2012
