FX-816 Anchor Set
DESCRIPTION:
FX-816 Anchor Set is a three component, flowable, fast-setting, 100% reactive polyester grout specifically formulated for anchor bolt setting. It may also be used as a grout for floor topping where chemical resistance is required.
ADVANTAGES:
- May be used in temperatures as low as 20°F (-7° C). In temperatures above 50° F (10° C) use FX-830 Anchor Set.
- Provides excellent chemically resistant surfaces.
- Exhibits fast set, at temperatures below 50° F (10°C), allowing it to be put into service quickly.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
Compressive Strength
6,000 psi, 41.37 MPa @ 1 hour @ 75°F (24° C)
10,000 psi, 68.95 MPa @ 2 hours @ 75° F (24°C)
Pot Life
15 minutes @ 75°F (24°C)
Cure Cycle
30°F (-1° C) 3 hours
70°F (21°C) 2 hours
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Anchor Bolt Grouting: Anchor bolt holes or other surfaces to which FX-816 is to be applied must be free of dust, oil, or any other contaminants. Holes drilled with diamond bits may not produce the best sidewall surface condition. For best results, use rotary type percussion equipment.
Floor Topping: Surface to receive FX-816 must be clean, dry, sound, and free from any materials which might interfere with adhesion. Abrasive blasting, or scarification are and detergent washing recommended depending upon the surface to be covered.
MIXING:
At the job site, open Component "B" containing the filler/hardener. Begin mixing with an FX-Mixing Paddle and slow-speed electric drill. Slowly pour Component "A", the resin, into Component "B". Mix until a uniform gray color, about 2-3 minutes. Add Component C and mix for 1-2 minutes.
APPLICATION:
Anchor Bolt Grouting: Pour slowly and stop frequently to permit leveling. This will prevent air entrapment.
Floor Topping: The floor should be primed with FX-816 Primer at the rate of 100 sq./gal. FX-816 mortar shall be applied with normal masonry tools and trowel.
PACKAGING:
Yield:
25 lb. unit = 20 lb. bag filler/hardener plus 1/2 gallon resin plus C Component yields 300 cu.in./.175 cu. ft.
50 lb. unit = 40 lb. bag filler/hardener plus 1 gallon resin plus C Component yields 600 cu. in./.350 cu. ft.
Filler/Hardener is packaged in polyethylene bags. It is palletized and shrink wrapped to protect it from moisture, or packed in fiber drums.
STORAGE:
FX-816 is to be stored between 45° F and 80° F. Shelf Life: 3 months with proper storage
