FX-265 Rapid Hardening Polymer Repair Mortar

Download PDF of FX-265

DESCRIPTION:

FX-265 Rapid Hardening Polymer Repair Mortar is a one component polymer modified, shrinkage- compensated cement-based mortar. It is designed for horizontal concrete surfaces where high early strength gain is required. The blend of special cements, aggregates, fibers and polymers produce a highly durable mortar or concrete in a short time.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Prepackaged bag mix - just add water; assures consistent properties.
  • Exhibits superior adhesion and durability, achieved from high polymer content and special plasticizers.
  • Develops high compressive strengths, permits acceptance of vehicular traffic in two hours.
  • Synthetic fibers disperse readily throughout the mix increasing strength and reducing shrinkage cracking.
  • When depth exceeds 2 inches, up to 25 lbs (11.34 kilo) of 3/8" coarse aggregate may be added per bag of FX-265.

WHERE TO USE:

  • Applications requiring high early-strength gain
  • Structural concrete repairs, interior or exterior
  • Airport runways, highways, parking decks, walkways, tunnels, floor overlays, and spot patching
  • Repairing industrial floors
  • Horizontal surfaces

SURFACE PREPARATION:

  1. Concrete must be structurally sound.
  2. Saw cut the perimeter of the area being patched into a square with a minimum depth of 1/2" (13 mm).
  3. Remove all unsound concrete and roughen the surface to a minimum 1/4" (6 mm) profile
  4. Remove all laitance, oil, grease, curing compounds, and other contaminants that could prevent adequate bond.
  5. The concrete substrate should be saturated surface-dry (SSD), without standing water, before application.

MIXING:

Start with approximately .7 gallons of water per bag of FX-265. As water is increased, strength will decrease; therefore use only as much water as is
required to place and finish the concrete. Mix only what can be placed in 15 minutes. For thick sections greater than 2 inches, a 50 lb. bag of FX-265 may be extended with approximately 25 lbs. of coarse aggregate (about Ω of a five gallon bucket)

APPLICATION:

Curing compound is not required as material will surface seal itself; however, provide a 2 hour wet cure whenever possible. For bonding, use
FX-Bondcrete, applied to surface before FX-265. Clean tools and equipment with water.

YEILD:

Each 50 lb (22 Kilo) unit will yield approximately 0.42 cu. ft. of mortar when mixed with .7 gallons of water. One- 50 lb. bag when mixed with 25 lb. of coarse aggregate will yield approximately 0.62 cubic feet of concrete

SHELF LIFE:

12 months minimum in dry storage in original container.

PACKAGING:

50 lbs in a multi-wall bag.

STORAGE:

Store and transport in unopened containers at 60 to 80° F (16 to 27° C) in clean, dry conditions.

CAUTION:

FX-265 contains Portland cement, silicon dioxide which may cause skin irritation in some cases. Injurious to eyes. May irritate internal tissues if ingested or inhaled. If any cementitious material gets into the eye, flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Get prompt medical attention Freshly mixed cement, mortar, grout or concrete causes skin irritation. Avoid direct contact where possible and wash exposed skin areas promptly with water. Protect skin with waterproof gloves or coverings. Powdered materials such as cement, silica may require OSHA approved respirators.

FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN. 8/2005
