FX-264 Thin Patch
MSDS Download
FX-264 was used in the following case studies:
DESCRIPTION:
FX-264 Thin Patch is a polymer modified, cement based compound, that is formulated for patching and repairing concrete and masonry from featheredge to a 1" thickness in one application. FX-264 Thin Patch is a proprietary compound of portland cement, finely graded aggregates and special polymer modifiers to increase adhesion and aid curing. FX-264 requires only clean water for mixing.
WHERE TO USE:
FX-264 Thin Patch may be used to patch and repair interior and exterior, above or below grade, vertical or horizontal concrete and masonry surfaces. Specific uses include resurfacing and leveling; filling small holes, honeycomb, and spalled areas; and tuck pointing both cracks and mortar joints. The finished patch is dense, crack resistant, durable, and has exceptional strength. If depth exceeds 1" add FX- Coarse Aggregate to the mix at a rate of approximately 30 lbs of Coarse Aggregate per bag of FX-264.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
Concrete Surfaces: Concrete surfaces shall be cleaned to remove dirt, curing compounds, existing coatings or laitance to provide a clean sound bonding surface. Cleaning may be accomplished by abrasion blasting or other methods that would achieve a similar result. Clean and properly prime all exposed reinforcing steel with FX-408 Zinc Rich Primer.
MIXING:
One 50 lb. bag of FX-264 will require approximately 3.5 quarts of water. Mix FX-264 in a clean container using a slow speed motor and mixing blade. For small quantities, mix with a hand trowel. Pour clean water into the clean container and gradually add the FX-264. Mix thoroughly to disperse all ingredients and to achieve troweling consistency. Do not aerate FX-264 while mixing. Do not use excess water, and do not retemper FX-264.
APPLICATION:
For best results apply epoxy bonding agent immediately before patching. Apply FX-264 with sufficient pressure to fill all holes and voids, and then trowel to a smooth finish. On large areas, use a screed to obtain a uniform level before troweling. Do not over-trowel. FX-264 will achieve initial set in approximately 40 minutes, final set in approximately one hour, and cures within 24 hours under normal drying conditions. Maximum thickness of application is 1" per lift without coarse aggregate.
Clean all mixing and application equipment with water immediately following use. Remove all splatter or spills with water before material sets. FX-Thin Patch is a cementitious product containing a bonding additive, and if splatters are allowed to dry on a surface, removal becomes extremely difficult.
COVERAGE:
A 50 lb. bag of FX-264 will yield approximately 0.4 cubic foot of ready-to-use material. Applied at the following thickness, one bag of FX-264 will cover:
1/4"19.2 sq. ft.
1/2"9.6 sq. ft.
1"4.8 sq. ft.
Coverage rates are approximate and are for estimating purposes only.
PACKAGING:
50 lb. poly lined bags.
STORAGE:
Covered storage in cool dry area away from all moisture.
SHELF LIFE:
Minimum 1 year in protected storage.
LIMITATIONS:
Mix only enough material for immediate use. Do not apply to frozen or frost filled surfaces, at temperatures below 40°F, or if temperature is expected to fall below 40°F within 24 hours. Application temperatures below 60°F will extend set time. On windy or hot days or for application in direct sunlight, use wet burlap or plastic sheet for curing. Do not use FX-264 Thin Patch in joints or cracks that are in movement. Do not apply FX-264 more than 1" deep in one application without adding coarse aggregate. Do not overwork/over trowel the patch. Do not add more water than recommended.
CAUTION:
Product contains portland cement and silica, which is alkaline on contact with water. Do not breathe dust. May cause delayed lung injury (Silicosis). IARC reports Crystalline silica may cause cancer in humans. Irritating to eyes and skin. Avoid splashing into eyes or contact with skin. In case of eye contact, flood eyes repeatedly with potable water and call a physician. DO NOT RUB EYES. Wash skin thoroughly after handling. Use adequate ventilation.
FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN. 1/2002
