FX-791 LV LP Hydro-Ester® High Modulus
MSDS Download
DESCRIPTION:
FX-791-LV LP Hydro-Ester® High Modulus is a 100% solids, epoxy resin. It is specifically formulated with a long pot life to prevent material waste after mixing. FX-791 LV LP exceeds the requirements of ASTM C881 Types, II and V, Grade 1, Class C and F.
ADVANTAGES:
Long working life permits deep penetration, and prevents loss of material from premature gelling. Great for hot weather conditions. High strength, excellent capillary penetration of concrete and masonry. Low viscosity permits easy-flow crack grouting by gravity feed or pressure injection. FX-791 LV LP is excellent for use as a penetrating sealer on concrete, wood, and other construction surfaces.
WHERE TO USE:
Use for grouting dry and damp cracks and as a penetrating sealer on dry concrete surfaces. Mix with 4 parts by volume FX-700 Epoxy Extender for grouting base plates. Mix with 5 parts by volume of FX-700 Epoxy Extender for patching mortar, or seamless floor toppings.

MIXING:
Material should range between 75°F (18°C) and 85°F (24C°) to achieve best penetration. Stir each component lightly prior to proportioning. Mix 2 parts "A" with 1 part "B" by volume. Mix thoroughly for 2 to 3 minutes with FX-Mixing Paddle and low-speed drill until color is uniform.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Remove dust, laitance, grease, and curing compounds from concrete surface by abrasive blasting, wire-brushing, or other methods including shot blasting. Cracks may be dry, damp or wet.
APPLICATION:
GravityGravity feed into cracks. If crack penetrates depth of slab, seal underside of slab with FX-753 Trowel Grade to prevent leakage.
Pressure InjectionRun putty knife blade along crack to open crack. Remove dust by vacuum or clean compressed air. Place one-way polyethylene valves every 6" to 18" along length of crack. Seal surface of crack to be injected with FX-753 Trowel Grade. Pump FX-791 LV LP into lowest one-way valve. When epoxy reaches next highest valve, move up and repeat procedure. Pull valves after cure.
For automatic pressure injection, use FX-Automatic Pressure Injection Machine as shown in FN-101 or manufactured by others.
When used as penetrating sealer, apply mixed material with rubber squeegee, roller, or brush. Allow time to penetrate. Squeegee off excess while still liquid.
For patching, apply neat FX-791-LV LP to prime clean sound substrate. Mix blended epoxy with FX-700 Epoxy Extender and trowel in place.
Use neat to grout bolts if hole is less than 1/8" larger than bolt diameter. Mix blended FX-791-LV LP with 2 1/2 parts FX-700, for larger spacings.
Place grout in single lift not exceeding 3/4". For deeper grout, place in 3/4" lifts to bring flush with underside of plate.
SHELF LIFE:
2 years
LIMITATIONS:
Do not thin FX-791-LV LP; solvents will prevent proper cure. Substrate temperature must not be below 50°F. Exposure to elevated temperatures for prolonged periods is not recommended.
Epoxy resin (A Component) may crystallize. Heating material to 120°F and stirring will reconstitute material to original condition. Allow to cool before using.
CAUTION:
"A" Component contains epoxy resin. May cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Avoid inhalation of vapor. Use good ventilation, particularly if the material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin and eyes.
"B" Component contains alkaline amines; strong sensitizer. Do not get into eyes, on skin or clothing. Avoid breathing vapor. Keep container closed. Use with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after handling.
FIRST AID:
In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Call a physician. Wash clothing before reuse. Discard contaminated shoes. Wear protective clothing, goggles, gloves, and/or barrier creams.
FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN. 12/2004
