FX-766 EE Electrical Encapsulation Kit
DESCRIPTION:
FX-766 EE Electrical Encapsulation Kit is a ready-to-mix epoxy resin kit which can be used as an electrical encapsulation grout or epoxy flooring to prevent damage caused by stray electrical current. FX-766 is insensitive to moisture and free of solvents. It can be used on damp or dry substrates.
WHERE TO USE:
FX-766 EE Electrical Encapsulation Kit can be used as an insulative grout or leveling pad under electrical equipment, potting for motor windings, isolation grout, or anywhere an electrical encapsulation or insulative grout is required.
Transportation - Grout pads and insulative flooring under and around electrical transformers and train control equipment, anchor bolting electrical equipment, leveling grout under electrical equipment.
Industry - Potting material for motor windings, grout pads for heavy fans, blowers, turbines, and equipment control units.
Utilities - Transformer bases, electric generators, and turbines.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
Proper preparation of the substrate and contact area of the base plate is essential. Substrate must be both clean and sound. Remove laitance, oils, and grease from concrete by sandblasting or bush hammering. If possible, sandblast bottom of base plates and wipe clean and dry. Apply grout as soon as possible after cleaning steel surfaces to prevent recurrence of oxidation. (If primer for steel base plate edges or top surface is required, use FX-408 Zinc Rich Primer.)
FORMING:
FX-766 EE Grout is a pourable viscosity, self-leveling material. Seal forms to prevent leakage. Wax inside of forms or use a bond-breaking lining to prevent adhesion of grout to form.
PRIMING:
To prime substrate, mix 12 fluid ounces of Component "A" with 6 ounces of Component "B" and apply to about 17 square feet of surface area.
Apply primer by brush, roller or squeegee. Avoid puddles. If larger area is primed, appropriate amount of Filler must be removed to produce a resin/filler ratio of 1:3 by volume.
For best performance, area should be primed with neat material.
MIXING:
Stir components "A" and "B" thoroughly before mixing. Combine two (2) parts by volume of Component "A" with one (1) part by volume of Component "B" (mixing ratio 2:1). Mix for not less than 3 minutes with a slow speed drill (300 to 600 rpm) and an FX-Mixing Paddle.
For best performance, mix entire pack. Remove all components from 6 gallon pail. Slowly add filler while continuing to mix resin until all is added or desired consistency. NOTE: Do not thin FX-766 EE. Solvent will prevent proper cure, and cause shrinkage. If less than full unit is required, carefully measure 2 parts Component "A" and one (1) part Component "B" and add desired amount of filler.
APPLICATION:
FX-766 EE Grout may be cast in single or multiple lifts, up to 3 inches thick.
Apply at ambient temperatures as low as 40° F. Exposure to elevated temperatures for prolonged periods is not recommended. (Use FX-63 Heat Resistant Grout up to 400 °F.)
To grout under in-place equipment, pour grout into forms from one or two sides. Grout will self-level. Rodding is not required under normal circumstances. To place new pads, set leveling shims, screeds, or adjusting screws. Pour grout in single or multiple lifts up to 3 inches thick. Maintain a liquid head to insure intimate contact between grout and plate. Machine base must be in contact with pad. Place sufficient grout in form to rise slightly above underside of machine base to encase sides, or use any other similar application.
Clean equipment with FX Tool and Equipment Cleaner or other approved solvent. Strip forms after cure.
PACKAGING:
FX-766 EE Grout is conveniently packaged in a 6-gallon pail. Each Component is pre-measured and separately packaged inside the 6 gallon pail.
