FX-70-6 Hydro-Ester® MP Marine Epoxy
MSDS Download
DESCRIPTION:
FX-70-6 Hydro-Ester® MP Marine Epoxy Grout is a moisture insensitive, 100% solids epoxy grout. It is specifically formulated to cure underwater, but can be used in other applications as well. This economical epoxy grout exhibits exceptional flow, high strengths and low absorption. FX-70-6 Hydro-Ester® MP has a long pot life for easy pumping with special grout pumps. FX-70-6 MP can be pumped or poured into the void created between the existing structure and the FX-70® Inert Corrosion Free Jacket. Dewatering is not required.
ADVANTAGES:
The resin exhibits exceptional flow and long pot life for easy pumping through long pump lines.
For:
- Convenient 2A:1B mix ratio by volume
- High Strength, Impact Resistance Grout
- Excellent adhesion to wet and dry surfaces
- Cures and bonds underwater, dewatering is not necessary
- Good chemical resistance in aggressive water enviroments

SURFACE PREPARATION:
For best results, areas to receive the FX-70-6 HE-MP must be free of laitance, grease, oil or other contaminants that would inhibit bond. Water blasting, sand blasting, or wire brushing for surface preparation is recommended.
MIXING:
Combine (2) two gallons A Component with one (1) gallon B Component, mix with a low speed drill and FX-Mixing Paddle for two minutes. Add two (2) 50 lb. bags of the C Component. Mix until uniform. Scrape sides and bottom to ensure thorough mixing. Pump or pour immediately after mixing.
APPLICATION:
Pump or pour FX-70-6 Hydro-Ester® MP Marine Epoxy Grout into wet or dry annular void between the FX-70® Inert Corrosion-Free Jacket and the existing structure.
SHELF LIFE:
Two (2) years when stored in closed containers in a dry, controlled temperature area. Do not allow material to freeze or exceed 80°F.
PACKAGING:
FX-70-6 MP is available in 3 gallon units (2 gallons A Component, 1 gallon B Component plus (2) 50 lb. bags C Component) or a 15 gallon unit (10 gallons A Component, 5 gallons B Component plus (10) 50 lb. bags C Component).
YIELD:
3 gallons of mixed FX-70-6 MP with (2) 50 pound bags of C component will yield approximately +/- 1,911 cubic inches of grout.
At contractor's option, the ratio of C Component to mixed epoxy may be increased. This increase in C Component will reduce the unit cost, however flowability will be reduced. Three (3) gallons of mixed FX-70-6 HE-MP when combined with three (3) 50 lb bags of C Component will yield approximately 2,400 CI.
LIMITATIONS:
FX-70-6 HE-MP Marine should not be used when ambient or surface temperature is below 40° F (4° C). Lower temperatures slow the set time and reduce flowability. Heat generated by friction from pumping can accelerate setting time.
CAUTION:
"A" Component contains epoxy resin. DANGER! "B" Component contains alkaline amines; strong sensitizer. "C" Component contains silicon dioxide. Avoid breathing dust. Liquids may cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Use with good ventilation, particularly if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin or eyes. Wear protective clothing, goggles, gloves and/or barrier creams. Keep container closed when not in use. Wash thoroughly after handling.
FIRST AID:
In case of skin contact, immediately wash with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least fifteen (15) minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse.
FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN. 2/2010
