DESCRIPTION:

FX-466 Chemical Resistant Grout Pack is a ready-to-mix, preproportioned, epoxy resin grout kit. It can be used in industrial environments where high chemical resistance to acids and alkalis are needed. FX-466 is a solvent free, high functionality Novolac epoxy suitable for immersion and non-immersion service. It is moisture insensitive and may be used on damp or dry substrates.

FX-466 Chemical Resistant Grout Pack consists of 100% solids epoxy resin and specially selected aggregated. Units are preproportioned for ease of use on the job. FX-466 is an easy-flow grout with excellent handling and physical characteristics.

ADVANTAGES:

  • FX-466 Chemical Resistant Grout Pack, when mixed, produces a convenient, easily workable topping.
  • Excellent chemical resistance, high cross link density.

WHERE TO USE:

FX-466 Chemical Resistant Grout Pack is most effective for use in industrial areas where acid spillage or continuous exposure to acid occurs. Excellent for use in paper mills and public facilities such as restrooms, shower stalls, kitchen floors, pump houses, and where chlorides and similar chemical spillage is unavoidable. Where elevations do not permit the use of FX-466, use the material neat as a coating only, at a rate of 100 square feet per gallon.

FX-466 Chemical Resistant Grout Pack can also be used as follows:

  • Ammonium Sulphate Plants
  • Acid Removal Stations
  • Pickling Operations
  • Acid Tanks
  • Tin Mills, Halogen Lines
  • Aluminum Tanks
  • Acid Pits & Troughs

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Proper preparation of the substrate and contact area of the baseplate is essential. Substrate must be both clean and sound. Remove laitance, oils, and grease by sandblasting or bush hammering. Sandblast bottom of base plates and wipe clean with an approved metal-cleaning solvent, if necessary. Hammer out defective area and patch with FX-466 Chemical Resistant Grout Pack all-in-one epoxy mortar kit. Allow FX-466 to cure before using. Apply grout to steel surfaces as soon as possible after cleaning to prevent reoxidizing.

MIXING:

For ease of handling, store FX-466 Chemical Resistant Grout Pack at 70°F ±. Remove A & B units from large pail. Pour A unit back into large pail and mix for 2-3 minutes. Pour B unit into the premixed A unit in the pail. Mix for 2-3 minutes again. Place mixed material in area in which material is to be used.

NOTE: DO NOT THIN SYSTEM. SOLVENTS WILL PREVENT PROPER CURE.

PRIMING:

To prime substrate, mix 12 ounces of A with 6 ounces of B and apply by brush or roller to about 17 square feet of surface area. If larger area need be primed, appropriate amount of Filler must be removed to produce a resin/filler ratio of 1:3 by volume. For best performance, area should be primed with neat material.

APPLICATION:

FX-466 Chemical Resistant Grout Pack may be placed from 1/4" to 1" thickness. Apply at ambient temperatures as low as 40°F. Exposure to elevated temperatures for prolonged periods is not recommended. Clean equipment with FX-Tool and Equipment Cleaner, or other approved solvent. Strip forms after cure.
