DESCRIPTION:

FX-15 Water Based Curing and Sealing Compound is a water based emulsion that s used on freshly placed concrete, cement mortars and toppings. FX-15 is designed from modified acrylic copolymer to give solvent based performance from a water emulsion system. FX-15 offers a combination curing, sealing and dustproofing for freshly finished concrete surfaces indoors or outdoors. FX-15 is VOC compliant and can be applied either by spray, brush, or roller, it dries to a non-yellowing, durable, clear film on concrete. FX-15 is ideal for interior applications because it is free of noxious fumes and it is non-flammable.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:

FX-15 Low VOC will meet the following standard specifications for curing compounds:

ASTMC-309 and AASHTO M-148, Type 1, Class B
Color	Wet White/Dry Clear
Weight/Gallon	8.25 lbs. ą .2 3.7kg. per gal. or 1 kg. per liter
V.O.C.	1.80 lbs./gal.

APPLICATION:

Fresh Concrete: Apply FX-15 by power or hand spray, roller, or brush on freshly placed concrete.The concrete should be treated as soon as bleed water disappears. Apply at 150 square feet per gallon (13.9 m<= per gal.). Do not thin. Apply uniformly without puddles.

The second coat, which is optional, will provide a longer lasting surface coating with a higher gloss finish. Old Concrete: Clean and restore surface as required. Apply two uniform applications as above. Allow first coat to dry before applying second coat. NOTE: On old concrete surfaces where a vapor barrier is objectionable, (typically on exterior surfaces) use one FX-424 Breathable Sealer.

COVERAGE:

Curing—150 sq. ft. per gal. (13.9 m<= per gal.)

Sealing—200 to 400 sq. ft. per gal. (18.6 m<= to 37.2 m<= per gal.)

With 2nd coat applied at—400 to 600 sq. ft. per gal. (37.2 m<= to 55.7 m<= per gal.)

Texture and absorption of surface will influence final coverage rates—Film Thickness—1.4 mil at 200 sq. ft. per gal.

Dry Time—Approximately 2-3 hours at 70°F (21.1°C) for recoating or light traffic. Wait 12 hours for heavy traffic. Dry time is temperature and humidity dependent.

5 gallon pails and 55 gallon drums

CLEANUP:

For tools and equipment use warm soapy water.

LIMITATIONS:

This product should not be used at temperatures below 40°F. Do not apply concrete or mortar toppings over sealed surfaces. Not for use under resinous (epoxy, polyester, urethanes, etc.) coatings. Will interfere with the adhesion of sealants. Avoid spraying FX-15 into an exterior joint prior to installation of sealant. May show rubber tire marks. Do not allow the stored product to freeze.To prolong the life of the coating, regular sweeping and washing of the floor is suggested. Wipe up chemical spills as soon as possible. Where worn away by abrasion or traffic, recoat after surface is cleaned.

WARNING:

Use protective clothing and equipment. Avoid excessive inhalation of vapors or mists. Avoid ingestion and contact with skin and eyes. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for further information.

CAUTION:

Protect from freezing. Wash after handling.
