DESCRIPTION:

FX-509 Rust Inhibitive Coating is a one component acrylic, self-priming, rust inhibitive, ultraviolet (U.V.) resistant coating. FX-509 is water based, safe to use and features low V.O.C. emissions. Clean-up of tools and spray equipment may be done with water.

WHERE TO USE:

FX-509 protects steel surfaces, including steel roofs, where protection from corrosion and reflection of sunlight is important.

Drying Time at 72°F	1-1/2 hours
Tack-Free Time	20 to 30 mins depending on ambient temperatures
Solids	40% by volume

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Steel Surfaces: Steel surfaces should be dry grit or sandblasted to a commercial metal finish as specified by the Steel Structures Painting Council SP-6. All work blasted shall be coated the same day.

APPLICATION:

Stir FX-509 well. Apply by brush, roller or spray.

COVERAGE:

FX-509 will cover approximately 200 to 225 square feet per gallon on even surfaces. For best results, two coats are recommended. Second coat can be applied when first coat is tack free, approximately (1) one hour.

LIMITATIONS:

Do not use in temperatures below 50°F. Use only on dry, properly prepared surfaces.

SHELF LIFE:

1 year

CAUTION:

Protect from freezing. Use goggles, spray suit, and gloves which are NIOSH approved. Clean up with soap and water.
