DESCRIPTION:

FX-509 G Galvanized & Aluminum Primer is a one component, water based coating which provides excellent adhesion to metal substrates. For all protective coating applications the first need is for adhesion and passivation of the substrate. FX-509 G Galvanized & Aluminum Primer has excellent adhesion to difficult metal substrates such as aluminum and galvanized steel. FX-509 G can be top coated with solvent or water based systems and is an excellent base for top coating such as FX-509 Rust Inhibitive Coating or FX-442 Urethane Coating. FX-509 G is easy to use and can be used at temperatures as low as 40 °F.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Degrease surface prior to cleaning. Power wash (2,000-3,000 psi), steam, hot water with detergents may be used. Remove all loose mill scale, rust scale, and old paint scale by sandblasting or power tool cleaning.

APPLICATION:

FX-509 G can be applied by brush, roller or spray application. Airless or conventional equipment can be used to apply coating.

SHELF LIFE:

Two (2) years—Closed container

COVERAGE:

250 to 300 sq. ft./gallon

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT:

Use water and detergents for cleaning equipment and tools.

LIMITATIONS:

Should not be applied or stored below 40°F. Protect from freezing.
