DESCRIPTION:

FX-505 Acrylic Protective Coating is a one component acrylic resin coating designed for application to concrete construction. Being waterbased, FX-505 is easy to apply and safe to use. FX-505 will protect concrete, masonry, stucco and plywood.

ADVANTAGES:

• Excellent weathering properties from the 100% acrylic resin.
• Fast dry time eliminates dirt pickup.
• Can be applied by brush, roller or spray.
• No solvent odor.
• VOC complaint.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

For best results, remove all loose material, laitance, grease, or oil before applying FX-505. Dull any glossy surface with steel wool or fine sandpaper. Fresh concrete should be allowed to cure a minimum of 21 days before coating. All mold release agent or curing compound should be removed from the concrete surface.

MIXING:

Avoid high speed or prolonged mixing with electric drills or air mixers, which may entrap excessive air. Avoid shaking or whipping.

APPLICATION:

FX-505 Acrylic Protective Coating may be applied by brush, roller or spray. Thinning is not recommended. For maximum protection, apply two coats at 6 mils wet film thickness for each coat. Allow 4 hours drying time between coats. Use in areas of poor ventilation, low temperature or high humidity may require longer dry time.

COVERAGE:

Coverage on various substrates will vary according to their porosity and roughness. FX-505 should be applied at approximately 200 to 300 square feet per gallon on smooth surfaces. For best results, two coats should be applied.

PACKAGING:

FX-505 is packaged in 1 gallon & 5 gallon pails and 55 gallon drums.

SHELF LIFE:

Shelf life is one year maximum in closed container. Protect from freezing.

STORAGE:

When pail has been opened and all the material has not been used, make sure lid is tightly secured before storing.

LIMITATIONS:

FX-505 Acrylic Protective Coating should not be applied at surface or ambient temperatures below 50° F.

CAUTION:

SYNTHETIC AQUEOUS EMULSION LATEX POLYMER. CAUTION! DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY! Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged contact with skin. Wear chemical resistant gloves. Use with adequate ventilation. If sprayed, avoid breathing mist or vapors by wearing mask.

FIRST AID:

In case of eye contact, flush eyes with plenty of water at once. If irritation continued, see a physician. Wash skin with plenty of soap and water at first opportunity. If swallowed, induce vomiting, and CALL A PHYSICIAN AT ONCE.
