DESCRIPTION:
FX-501 Elastomeric Coating is a 100% acrylic high performance elastomeric wall coating. FX-501 has low temperature flexibility, is UV stable and resists dirt pick up. The elastomeric properties allow crack bridging without rupturing and wrinkling. FX-501 is environmentally friendly, easy to apply and safe to use. FX-501 will bond to existing concrete, masonry, stucco, and plywood. FX-501 exhibits breathability which prevents moisture buildup in walls.
ADVANTAGES:
- Excellent resistance to UV (ultraviolet) water, acid rain and salt mist. Breathable. High tensile strength and elongation properties.
- Easily applied by spray, brush or roller.
- Maintains low temperature flexibility with no dirt pick-up.
- Resists cracking
- Single component, waterborne easy cleanup.
- Excellent color retention
- Highly resistant to substrate alkali

SURFACE PREPARATION:
For best results, remove all loose material before applying FX-501 Elastomeric Coating to surface component. Apply to clean, reasonably dry (not visibly damp) and structurally sound surfaces only. Deteriorated or heavily spalled masonry and defective brickwork must be repaired or replaced. Remove oil/grease with detergent/water or solvent. Concrete curing compounds or form release agents must be removed. Unsound joints in existing work should be re-pointed and allowed to cure before coating. Gloss painted surfaces should be abraded and degreased before being coated. Remove dirt, algal and fungal growth, surface dust, flaking or loose paint (see also under Substrate Treatment). Laitance and any surface contamination must be removed by high pressure water washing with detergent, abrasive blasting or mechanical/hand wire brushing. Concrete or Cementitious substrates should be cured a minimum of 7 days in ideal conditions or up to 30 days otherwise before coating.
APPLICATION:
Brush - A wide soft nylon or bristle brush gives best results.
Roller - Use a heavy nap 3/4" synthetic cover.
Spray - Airless spray can be used with care on smooth substrates only; always finish off in one direction. Most types are suitable operating at 3,000 psi with 0.017"-0.023" tips.
COVERAGE:
Coverage on various substrates will vary according to their porosity and hardness.FX-501 should be applied at approximately 200 square feet per gallon. For best results, two coats should be applied. Tools and hands are easily cleaned with soap and water.

LIMITATIONS:
FX-501 Elastomeric Coating should not be applied at temperatures below 40°F. FX-501 should not be applied in rain or rain threatening weather. PROTECT FROM FREEZING!
SHELF LIFE:
Shelf life is one year maximum in closed container. Opened containers may skinkeep out of direct sunlight when in use and stir occasionally.
When pail has been opened and all the material has not been used, make sure lid is tightly secured before storing. If air gets into material, it will thicken.
