FX-472 Epoxy Resurfacer
DESCRIPTION:
FX-472 Epoxy Resurfacer is a two-component, high solids epoxy filler. It is designed to easily fill voids in concrete and make surfaces smooth for subsequent coatings. It has excellent thixotropy and will hang up to 3/4 inch neat. When mixed, it has a creamy consistency that is easy to both spray and trowel. It is designed for use on concrete, masonry and steel. FX-472 offers excellent corrosion resistance and very good cathodic disbondment resistance. FX-472 can be applied over cementitious repair materials. FX-472 complies with all current VOC regulations.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
On Concrete and Masonry - Surfaces should be clean, sound and dry. Abrasive blast to remove dirt, curing compounds, existing coatings or laitance and provide a profile to the concrete.
MIXING:
FX-472 has a convenient 1:1 mixing ratio by volume and a long pot life to simplify mixing and application. Combine (1) one part by volume of Component "A" with (1) one part by volume of Component "B". Mix for a minimum of (3) minutes with a low speed electric drill and an FX-Mixing Paddle. No induction time is needed before applying. A component is white, B Component is black, mixed material is gray.
APPLICATION:
FX-472 Epoxy Resurfacer may be applied by brush, roller or spray.
SPRAY APPLICATION: Options include using a 45:1 spray unit with hopper attachment sprayed at 4000 psi with a min 3/8" I.D. hose or a 56:1 spray unit with hopper attachment sprayed at 3500 psi with a 3/8" I.D. hose. If spray hose is over 50' long, use 1/2" I.D. hose. Suggested spray tip sizes are 0.019 to 0.030. All spray equipment must employ traps to prevent water and oil from contaminating coating. FX-472 Epoxy Resurfacer can easily be sprayed at 250 mils per pass without sagging. Grout float may be used immediately after spray application to smooth surface. Do not solvent wipe between passes. Intervals between passes should not exceed 20 minutes.
TROWEL APPLICATION: FX-472 can easily be Trowel applied. A grout float is recommended to smooth surface of material.
COVERAGE:
Typical WFT and DFT will vary depending upon amount and size of bug holes to be filled plus the roughness of the surface to be covered.
PACKAGING:
2 gallon and 10 gallon units.
LIMITATIONS:
Shelf Life - unmixed12 months in closed container. Do not apply below 45°F.
CAUTION:
"A" Component contains epoxy resin. May cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Use with good ventilation, particularly if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin or eyes. Wear protective clothing goggles, gloves and/or barrier creams. Keep container closed when not in use. Wash thoroughly after handling.
Flammable DANGER! "B" Component contains alkaline amines; strong sensitizer. May cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Use with good ventilation, particularly if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin or eyes. Wear protective clothing, goggles, gloves and/or barrier creams. Keep container closed when not in use. Wash thoroughly after handling.
FIRST AID:
In case of skin contact, immediately wash with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least fifteen (15) minutes. Remove contaminated clothing, shoes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse.
