FX-468 Moisture Tolerant Epoxy Primer

DESCRIPTION:

FX-468 Moisture Tolerant Epoxy Primer is a two-component, 100% solids VOC compliant primer for concrete. FX-468 can be applied directly over wet concrete, at temperatures as low as 35°F. The low viscosity, no induction time and long pot life simplify application. FX-468 protects by penetrating concrete or wood and has excellent adhesion to damp concrete and other materials. It is suitable for many topcoats including epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

CONCRETE SURFACES: Concrete surfaces shall be cleaned to remove dirt, grease, oils, curing compounds, hardening agents, existing coatings or laitance to provide a clean, sound bonding surface. Cleaning may be accomplished with FX-Masonry Cleaner and waterblasting, acid etching and abrasive blasting, sandblasting, or other methods that achieve a similar result.

MIXING:

Combine two parts by volume of "A" with one part by volume of "B" (mixing ratio 2A:1B). Mix for not less than three minutes, using a slow speed drill, (300 to 600 rpm) and a FX-Mixing Paddle. When mixing has been completed, apply immediately no induction time is needed.

APPLICATION:

FX-468 may be applied by brush, roller or spray. All spray equipment must employ traps to prevent water and oil from contaminating coating.

COVERAGE:

FX-468 Epoxy Coating will cover approximately 200 sq. ft./gal./coat at 8.0 mils DFT, dependent upon surface texture. Minimum DFT is recommended at 5 mils. Maximum DFT is recommended at 15 mils.

PACKAGING:

FX-468 is packaged in three (3) gallon and fifteen (15) gallon units.

CAUTION:

"A" Component contains epoxy resin. DANGER! "B" Component contains alkaline amines; strong sensitizer. May cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Use with good ventilation, particularly if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin or eyes. Wear protective clothing, goggles, gloves and/or barrier creams. Keep container closed when not in use. Wash thoroughly after handling.

FIRST AID:

In case of skin contact, immediately wash with soap and water. in case of eye contact, flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least fifteen (15) minutes. Remove contaminated clothing shoes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse.
