FX-361 Migratory Corrosion Inhibitor

DESCRIPTION:

FX-361 Migratory Corrosion Inhibitor is a surface applied corrosion inhibitor designed to migrate through even the densest concrete structures and seek out the steel reinforcing bars embedded in concrete. The unique feature of FX-361 is that if not in direct contact with metals, it will migrate for a considerable distance through concrete to provide protection. FX-361 will stop the further corrosion of reinforcing metals and extend the service life of the structure. FX-361 also protects other metals including carbon steel, galvanized steel and aluminum.

WHERE TO USE:

All reinforced, precast, prestressed, post-tensioned or marine concrete structures
Steel-reinforced concrete bridges, highways, parking decks, garages and streets exposed to corrosive environments such as carbonation, deicing salts and atmospheric attack
Preventive maintenance of all reinforced concrete commercial and civil engineered structures such as concrete piers, dams, offshore platforms, piles, pillars, pipe and utility poles
Buildings and foundations of all types
Cooling towers and potable water tanks

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Surface should be dry, sound, clean and free of all dirt oil grease efflorescence, sealers, coatings, membranes and asphalt. Cleaning may be done by steam cleaning, water blasting or sandblasting.

APPLICATION:

FX-361 can be applied by spray (conventional airless or hand pressure spray equipment) roller, squeegee or paint brush. Dense substrates may require 2 coats with a minimum of 7.5 hours between coats. When applying a sealer, coating, repair mortar or concrete overlay, the surface should be rinsed with water, pressure washed or blast cleaned to remove any residue.

COVERAGE:

150 square feet per gallon (3.68 m2/l). Dense substrates may require 2 coats at the rate of 225 sq. ft./ gal. (5.52 m2/l).

PACKAGING:

1 gallon, 5 gallon and 55 gallon.

STORAGE:

Store above freezing. Shelf life of FX-361 is one year. FX-361 is classified as non-hazardous and non-flammable by the Department of Transportation.

LIMITATIONS:

The substrate and ambient temperature should be above freezing. Do not apply if temperatures are expected to fall below freezing within 12 hours. FX-361 will not penetrate film forming sealers, coatings, paint, membranes or asphalt.
