FX-214 Polymer Cementitious Coating

Download PDF of FX-214

DESCRIPTION:

FX-214 Polymer Cementitious Coating is a two-component polymer cementitious coating with an excellent consistency for use on concrete, brick, stucco, or stone. Component A is a white emulsified polymer solution. Component B is a select blend of cementitious materials.

ADVANTAGES:

FX-214 is a premeasured, pre-proportioned coating recommended for use above or below grade on concrete, masonry, mortar, stone, or steel. It permits breathing and does not encapsulate moisture. FX-214 resists salt intrusion when used as a protective coating.

FX-214 is not a solvent type system, and is non-flammable. It may be applied by brush, roller, or spray. All spray equipment must employ traps to prevent water and oil from contaminating the coating and the surface. FX-214 is easily applied to a clean, sound substrate. It increases resistance to deicing chemicals, and has good freeze/thaw resistance.

MIXING:

Shake Component A well and pour 1/2 of A Component into mixing container. Add Component B while stirring with a low speed power drill 300 to 600 rpm using an FX-Mixing Paddle. Mix to a uniform paste, then add the necessary amount of the A Component to bring to the desired consistency.

APPLICATION:

For best results, apply to a clean, sound surface. After cleaning, dampen surface. After surface dries, apply at a thickness of 12 to 15 mils. Too thick of a coating may result in cracking. Surface temperature must be 45°F and rising when applied.

PACKAGING:

2.5 gallon unit:

1.5 gallons of Component A in 3 gallon plastic pail - 22.5 lbs. Component B powder in bag (mix in pail)

5 gallon unit:

3 gallons of Component A in 6 gallon plastic pail - 45 lbs. Component B powder in bag (mix in pail if 5 gallons will be used in 30 to 45 minutes)

SHELF LIFE:

One Year

LIMITATIONS:

Do not use material below 45°F. Do not apply in excess of 15 mils per coat. Do not mix more material than can be applied within 60 minutes. Prevent coating from freezing for 48 hours after application.
