FX-922 Plug and Fast Set
MSDS Download
FX-922 was used in the following case studies:
DESCRIPTION:
FX-922 Plug and Fast Set is a light gray cement based powder. It is mixed with water to produce a fast setting mortar to make masonry repairs or to place anchor bolts. Masonry sand can be added to extend the setting time.
ADVANTAGES:
- Fast-Setting
- Non-Shrink
- Excellent bond to concrete
- Underwater patching
- Semi-Paste Consistency
- One Component, merely requires the addition of water
WHERE TO USE:
FX-922 Plug and Fast Set is used wherever a fast, smooth, non-shrink patch is needed and where water seepage is occurring, such as bell and spigot joints in sewer or water pipes, (concrete or clay); around conduits in manholes, storm drains or underground electric vaults (for high pressure leaks, use FX-III Expanding Jet Set); honeycomb in new or old concrete, whether overhead or vertical; anchor bolts, vertical or horizontal; to restore deteriorated manholes. Plug leaks with FX-922 or seal with FX-III Jet Set. FX-922 can be successfully used to accelerate the set of expanding type bentonite slurries of 20-30% solids, to prevent the slurry from being washed out around a pipe conduit or interlocking steel or concrete sheet piles. (To restore manholes, plaster with FX-253 Fiber Reinforced Mortar).

LIMITATIONS:
Minimum application temperature of 40°F and rising at time of application. Use only potable water for mixing.
CAUTION:
Cement powder or freshly mixed concrete, grout or mortar may cause skin injury. Avoid contact with skin and wash exposed skin areas promptly with water. If any cement powder or mixture gets into eyes, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water and get prompt medical attention.
FIRST AID:
In case of skin contact, flush with water. For eyes, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, and contact a physician. Wash clothing before re-use.
APPLICATION:
To stop leaks, add clean water and mix to desired consistency. FX-922 sets in 1 to 3 minutes at 75°F. If it sets too fast, add 1 to 2 parts of clean masonry sand. Knead into honeycombs by hand with rubber gloves. For small quantity mixing, use rubber or plastic containers. Plug minor leaks first working from the edges. Place FX-922 firmly into the crack or hole. For large openings, form compound into a carrot shape, and when plug is firm, ram it into cavity. Hold in place with heel of rubber gloved hand. Let go, strike off flush with surface.
To improve the appearance of concrete surface, gauge FX-922 with clean water to a workable consistency for a slush coat application. To achieve a better blending in appearance between repair and original concrete, aggregate should be the same as that used in the original concrete.
COVERAGE:
One gallon (10 lbs.) of FX-922 Plug and Fast Set, when mixed with 1 quart of water, will produce approximately 180 cu. in. of mortar.
SHELF LIFE:
1 year in original, unopened container.
STORAGE:
Store dry at 40-95°F. Condition material to 65-75°F before use.
LIMITATIONS:
Minimum application temperature of 40°F and rising at time of application. Use only potable water for mixing.
