DESCRIPTION:

FX-768 Epoxy Modified Normal Set Concrete Pack with corrosion inhibitor is produced with the use of 100% solids epoxy resin, specifically formulated to be compatible with cement, water, aggregate and sand mixtures. FX-768 is easy to mix and is placed like ordinary mortar or concrete. It is dark gray in color.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Prevents corrosion of steel.
  • Prepackaged grout is ready to use.
  • High compressive and tensile strengths.
  • Low absorption with no shrinkage.
  • Has excellent freeze-thaw and impact resistance properties
  • Economical.
  • Modulus of elasticity is the same as concrete.

WHERE TO USE:

Industrial floor overlays, parking garages, bridge decks, bridge seats, sidewalks, pile and pier restoration where low absorption and high strength is needed. To prevent deterioration of concrete and reinforcing steel. Rapid transit track pads.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Substrate must be clean and sound. Apply FX-752 Bonding Agent to the surface to be repaired at a rate of approximately 100 SF/gallon (2.45 m2/gal.). While the bonding agent is still tacky, place the epoxy modified mortar or concrete mix or apply a slurry coat of Epoxy Modified Mortar to the area to be repaired. Place the epoxy modified mortar or concrete while the slurry is still wet.

MIXING:

Start mixer and place FX-768 C Component into mixer and add up to 3/4 gallons ( 2.84 liter) of water per bag; add 1 gallon (3.785 liter) of mixed epoxy resin for each bag of C Component; mix for an additional 3 to 5 minutes. Additional water may be added to produce desired consistency (keep water content as low as possible).

Recommended Proportioning for Epoxy Modified Mortar
FX-768 C Component 3 bags (60 lbs. each) — 27.2 kilos
FX-768 Epoxy 3 gallons 11.36 liters
Water — 2-1/4 gallons (approx) — 8.5 liters
Approximate Yield — 1.55 cubic feet — 43.9 liters
Recommended Proportioning for Epoxy Modified Concrete Normal Set
FX-768 C Component — 3 bags (60 lbs. each) — 27.2 kilos
3/8" pea gravel 90 lbs. — 40.8 kilos
FX-768 Epoxy 3 gallons — 11.36 liters
Water — 2-1/4 gallons (approx) — 8.5 liters
Approximate Yield — 2.2 cubic feet — 62.3 liters

Place Coarse Aggregate in concrete mixer and start mixing. Add FX-768 C Component, add water to produce desired consistency, add mixed epoxy and mix an additional 3 to 5 minutes.

APPLICATION:

Place in conventional manner. Finishing may be improved with a vibrating screed. After screeding, allow bleed water to come to the surface, finish with steel trowel. Finishing may be aided by wiping trowel with solvent, preferably FX-Tool and Equipment Cleaner. Surface may be broomed.

Protect concrete during initial set with polyethylene sheeting. When concrete is sufficiently hard, cure with both burlap and polyethylene sheeting. Continue cure for 24 hours

CLEAN UP:

Flush equipment frequently with water. Tools in contact with neat epoxy must be cleaned with FX-Tool and Equipment Cleaner or other solvent-type cleaner. Tools in contact with concrete or mortar may be washed with water.

LIMITATION:

Store material between 65° F (18.3° C) and 85° F (29.4° C) during mixing. Do not mix FX-768 with organic solvents.

STORAGE:

Keep in cool, dry place.

SHELF LIFE:

Two years

CAUTION:

"A" COMPONENT - Contains Epoxy Resin. May cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Avoid inhalation of vapor. Use good ventilation particular if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin or eyes. If contact with skin occurs, wash immediately with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, flush immediately with water and contact a physician.

"B" COMPONENT - Contains alkaline amines, strong sensitizer. May cause burns. Do not get into eyes, on skin, or clothing. Avoid breathing vapor. Keep container closed. Use with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after handling.

"C" COMPONENT - Cement powder or freshly mixed concrete or mortar may cause skin injury. Avoid contact with skin; wash exposed areas promptly with water. If any cement powder or mixture gets into eyes, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water. Get prompt medical attention!

FIRST AID:

In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Call a physician. Wash clothing before reuse. Discard contaminated shoes.
