DESCRIPTION:

FX-288 Micro Silica Fiber Reinforced Shotcrete Mortar is a single component, fiber reinforced, micro silica shotcrete mortar. FX-288 benefits by containing micro silica and it is fiber reinforced for added tensile strength and flexural strength. FX-288 is air entrained for excellent durability and freeze thaw resistance. It is easy to use, requiring only the addition of potable water and sand meeting ASTM C-33, at the jobsite. The addition of locally available sand at the jobsite greatly reduces freight costs.

APPLICATION:

Add 150 lbs (68 Kilo) ASTM C-33 Concrete sand to each 52 lb. (23.6 Kilo) bag of FX-288 Micro Silica Fiber Reinforced Mortar. Use normal wet or dry process shotcrete methods. Pre-dampen surface with clean water for good bond. Follow practices of ACI 506-R85 "Guide to Shotcrete", especially in curing.

PACKAGING:

FX-288 is packaged in 52lb. (23.6 Kilo) bags. Each bag yields approximately 1.45 (41.06L) cubic feet when mixed with 150 lbs. (68 Kilo) of ASTM C-33 sand and approximately 1.3 gallons (4.92L) of potable water are added.

SHELF LIFE:

1 year

LIMITATIONS:

Do not apply below 45°F (7.2°C) surface temperature.

Use in thicknesses greater than 1/4 inch.

Protect fresh mortar from rain and freezing.

CAUTION:

WARNING! Contains portland cement. Do not breathe dust. May cause delayed lung injury (silicosis). Follow OSHA safely and health standards for crystalline silica (quartz). Cement powder or freshly mixed concrete, grout or mortar may cause skin injury. Avoid contact with skin and wash exposed skin areas promptly with water. If any cement powder or mixture gets into the eyes, rinse immediately and repeatedly with water and get prompt medical attention.
