FX-229 Non-Metallic Non-Shrink Grout
DESCRIPTION:
FX-229 Non-Metallic Non-Shrink Grout is a portland cement based grout that meets ASTM C1107 Grade A Pre-Hardening Volume adjusting grout. FX-229 provides good flowability, durability, good bond and no shrinkage. It is highly resistant to salt water and de-icing chemicals.
ADVANTAGES:
- FX-229 is ready to use. Just mix with potable water to the desired consistency.
- FX-229 offers good economy with excellent physical properties.
- FX-229 is recommended for floor overlays where structural properties are required to provide excellent abrasion resistant characteristics and high early compressive strengths with no shrinkage.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces in contact with FX-229 shall be free of oil, grease, laitance and other contaminants. Concrete must be clean, sound and roughened to ensure a good bond. Soak concrete surface for 8 to 24 hours prior to application with liberal quantities of potable water, leaving the concrete saturated and free of standing water. All deteriorated areas should be sandblasted or chipped to a clean, sound concrete surface.
APPLICATION:
Mix each 55 pound (25 kilo) bag of FX-229 With up to 1.15 gal lons (145 fluid oz.) of potable water. Lower water content will make fro less fluid higher strength grout Depending on the amount of water used FX-229 may be dry packed, poured or pumped into place
Mix for 2 to 4 minutes, until mixture is uniform. Place imme diately. Working time is approximately 30 minutes at 73¡F (23¡C). After FX-229 Grout has been placed, it should receive wet burlap curing or some other suitable curing method for at least 24 hours. FX-229 may be put in service immediately after the required grout strength has been reached.
COVERAGE:
Each 55 lb. (25 Kilo) bag will yield approximately .5 cubic feet when mixed with 145 oz. (4.3 L) of water.
SET TIME:
Initial set will be approximately 2.0 hours at 70°F (21°C) permitting adequate time for placement, and strapping if necessary.
To achieve best results, initial mix temperature of FX-229 Grout should be in the range of 55°F (12.8°C) to 80°F (26.7°C). When ambient temperatures are below 50°F (10.0°C), use warm water to mix. Use cold water to mix when ambient temperatures exceed 90°F.
LIMITATIONS:
FX-229 should not be used at ambient temperatures below 40°F (4.4°C).
CAUTION:
WARNING! Contains Portland Cement and Silica. Avoid breathing dust. Contact with fresh Portland Cement, grout or concrete may cause burns. In case of contact, flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get prompt medical attention; wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Wear protective clothing to avoid contact with concrete.
FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN. 11/2006
