FX-752 was used in the following case studies:

DESCRIPTION:

FX-752 Hydro-Ester® All Purpose Epoxy Bonding Agent is a two component, 100% solids epoxy resin system designed to bond new concrete to old and other materials to concrete. It has a convenient 1:1 mix ratio, by volume with a viscosity similar to heavyweight oil. FX-752 exceeds the requirements of ASTM C-881-02, Types II, Grade 2, Class "B" and "C".

ADVANTAGES:

FX-752 can be used:

  • to bond new concrete to old
  • to grout machine base plates
  • to place anchor bolts
  • as a floor topping with good chemical resistant properties
  • as a skid-resistant surface on concrete, steel or timber
  • as a protective coating.

APPLICATION:

Bonding Agent - When used as an adhesive, bonding new concrete to existing surfaces, coat the existing area (concrete, steel, aluminum, wood) at a rate of 100 square feet per gallon (9 m2) on smooth surfaces, 60 square feet on rough (6 m2). Apply topping while FX-752 is tacky; if dry, recoat.

Coating - When used as a protective coating, apply the material at a rate of 200 square feet per gallon per coat (8 mils) (19 m2/3.79 L -or- 5 m2/L).

Epoxy Grout - When used as an epoxy grout for machine-base grouting, add 2 parts by volume of FX-700 Epoxy Extender, or 1 part by volume of FX-701 Filler to produce good flow.

MIXING:

Stir Component "B" thoroughly before combining with Component "A". Combine 1 part volume of Component "A" with 1 part by volume of Component "B" for not less than (3) three minutes, using a slow-speed drill motor (300 to 600 rpm) and FX-Mixing Paddle for a uniform gray mixture. Scrape sides and bottom. Avoid entrapping air in mixture. Apply immediately after mixing to properly prepared surface.

APPLICATION:

Surface must be clean and sound. Remove rust, grease and curing compounds by best means available. FX-752 Hydro-Ester® All Purpose Epoxy Bonding Agent may be applied to dry or damp surfaces, but not in standing water. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Place fresh concrete while FX-752 is still tacky. If epoxy hardens simply apply another coat.

SHELF LIFE:

2 years

LIMITATIONS:

Application to surfaces with a temperature below 50°F (10.0°C) prolongs cure. Do not use if surface temperature is below 40°F (4.4°C).

Epoxy resin (A Component) may crystallize. Heating material to 120°F and stirring will reconstitute material to original condition. Allow to cool before using.

CAUTION:

"A" Component contains epoxy resin. DANGER! "B" Component contains alkaline amines; strong sensitizer. May cause skin sensitization or other allergic responses. Use with good ventilation, particularly if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent all contact with skin or eyes. Wear protective clothing, goggles, gloves and/or barrier creams. Keep container closed when not in use. Wash thoroughly after handling.

FIRST AID:

In case of skin contact, immediately wash with soap and water. in case of eye contact, flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least fifteen (15) minutes. Remove contaminated clothing shoes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse.

FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN. 10/2006
