DESCRIPTION:

FX-742 Fast Set Epoxy Bonding Agent epoxy resin is a two-component, 100% solids epoxy resin system with a unique curing mechanism that allows it to cure at in temperatures as low as 20°F (-7°C). FX-742 meets and exceeds the requirements of ASTM C-881-02, Types I, II and IV, Class A and B.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Bonding Agent - can be used in wet or dry environments for bonding new concrete to old concrete.
  • Epoxy Grout - Machine base plates for toppings such as floors, potholes in bridges and highways.
  • Anchor Bolts - to grout bolt holes when mixed with one part FX-701 Filler.
  • In 24 hours it will produce 48,000 psi,in pull out at an ambient temperature of 20°F to 40°F.
  • FX-742 Hydro-Ester® All Purose epoxy resin comes in a convenient 1:1 ratio, allowing ease of proportioning and mixing in field applications.

APPLICATION:

Surface must be clean and sound. Remove rust, grease, and curing compounds by best means available. When applying below 32°F, make sure to remove any ice that any be present to allow for proper adhesion. FX-742 Fast Set Epoxy Bonding Agent epoxy resin may be applied to dry, damp, or wet surfaces, but not in standing water or ice. FX-742 epoxy resin comes in a convenient 1:1 ratio allowing ease of proportioning and mixing in field applications. Apply by brush, roller, or spray. Place fresh concrete while FX-742 is still tacky. If epoxy hardens simply apply another coat.

COVERAGE:

Apply at a rate of 100 sq. ft. per gallon on smooth surface when bonding new concrete to old. Coverage will be less on rough surfaces.

LIMITATIONS:

Do not use in presence of ice. Should not be applied to a frozen surface.

Epoxy resin (A Component) may crystallize. Heating material to 120°F and stirring will reconstitute material to original condition. Allow to cool before using.

CAUTION:

"A" Component—WARNING! Contains epoxy resin. May cause skin sensitization or allergic responses. Avoid inhalation of vapor. Use good ventilation, particularly if material is heated or sprayed. Prevent contact with skin and eyes. If skin is contacted, flush immediately with water and consult a physician.

"B" Component—Warning Strong odor when liquid. In case of eye contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Call a physician. Wash clothing before reuse. Discard contaminated shoes.
