DESCRIPTION:

FX-343-DP is a water-reducing, set-retarding, concrete admixture in a concentrated liquid form. FX-343-DP is used where the performance requirements of a chemical admixture must meet ASTM C-494, Type D. This includes increased compressive and flexural strengths, extended set times of two (2) hours or greater (depending upon dosage), reduced drying shrinkage and reduced water absorption.

ADVANTAGES:

FX-343-DP is very economical compared to other similar type chemical admixtures. Being a concentrated liquid, FX-343-DP is easily stored and dispensed for use in concrete plants.

FX-343-DP is of particular advantage when used (1) in pumped concrete, (2) slip form concrete, and (3) concrete placed at high temperatures, since it will extend working time, prevent crazing, hairline cracking or shrinking.

Additional advantages are quite pronounced when compared to other admixtures. There is no slump loss in transport, particularly long hauls in ready-mix trucks into tunnels or conveyors—the same applies when pumping.

Cement reduction of 15% may be considered when using FX-343-DP. Strength results will be similar to the control mix with no admixture addition.

FX-343-DP is also available in powder form.

APPLICATION:

For best results, FX-343-DP should be used at the rate of 2 to 3 liquid ounces per sack of cement. This range will produce maximum water-reducing qualities. If more retardation is desired, the dosage can be increased as shown in the following chart:

*If powder form is preferred, substitute 1/2 pound of powder for each 2 fl ozs of liquid.

These doses will not affect the other properties produced by FX-343-DP; it will merely extend the set time with no harmful effects to the concrete.

SHELF LIFE:

Two (2) years in closed container.

LIMITATIONS:

FX-343-DP is not harmful to the skin, nor is it corrosive when in contact with metal surfaces. It should, however, be rinsed off surfaces or it will develop a coating-like finish. Protect from freezing.

CAUTION:

Eyes should be flushed with water if exposed to FX-343-DP
