DESCRIPTION:

FX-330 Superplasticizer is our latest generation of advanced polymeric dispersants used to modify Portland cement grout or concrete. FX-330 lowers water demand and increases slump without having slump loss associated with other Superplasticizers. FX-330 is ideal for use in any concrete where it is desired to keep the water/cement ratio to a minimum and still achieve the degree of workability necessary to provide easy placement and consolidation. Water reduction will range up to 30%. Normal setting time is maintained with FX-330. It meets all requirements of ASTM C-494-79, Type F (High Range Water Reducing Admixture), as well as the older ASTM -C494, Type "A" (Water Reducing Admixtures), plus AASHTO-M-194.

FX-330 will fluidize concrete, making it ideal for tremie concreting or other applications where high slumps are desired.

FX-330 is available in powder or liquid form. They are effective with air-entrained mixes.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Highly efficient, producing high slump concrete at very low dosage with no loss in strength
  • Holds slump for long times without loss with near neutral set time
  • Excellent water reduction
  • High physical strengths
  • Reduces bleeding and segregation
  • Reduced shrinkage
  • Non Corrosive

WHERE TO USE:

Use with Portland cement grout and mortar, where high flow is needed. Bridge decks, parapets, parking garage decks and on-grade highway patching are some of the places where FX-330 can be used. In concrete containing FX-330, the use of an air-entraining agent (such as FX-340) is recommended to provide suitable air void parameters for resistance against freeze-thaw attack.

HOW TO USE:

The FX-330 powder may be added directly to the batch with the cement or fine aggregates. When used in liquid form, add with water. By adding from 6 to 12 liquid ounces per sack of cement, this will produce an 8" to 9" slump for self-leveling concrete that does not require vibration. It saves in labor with no penalty in strength.

Addition rates of FX-330 can vary with type of application, but will normally range from 195 to 650 mL/100kg (3 to 10 fl oz/100 lbs) of cement. In most instances the addition of 195 to 325 mL/100 kg (3 to 5 fl oz/100 lbs) of cement will be sufficient. For best results, FX-330 may be added to the initial mix water. At a given water/cement ratio, the slump required for placement can be controlled by varying the addition rate. Should job site conditions require using more than recommended addition rates, please consult your Fox Representative.

APPLICATION:

FX-330 powder is used at a ratio 0.50 to 1 lb per sack of cement. Typical cement water ratio is 0.35.
